Spring Update

Over the past few months, not only have we been really enjoying parenthood with our beautiful daughter Molly-May, we have also been busy designing our Art for Kitchens range – It’s all very contemporary Art Nouveau; very timeless.  So far we have a large and a small pestle and mortar, a trivet (for your hot pots and pans), a spoon rest, a kitchen roll holder, a mug tree and a wonderful cook book stand, and we are now developing the designs for a cast iron tea pot.

With the design work mostly there, we are now working on the manufacturing of this range and will keep you posted as to when we will be launching this range.  There is so much involved in this so please be patient.  Believe me it will be worth the wait, the range is really lovely.
This year we have decided to not exhibit at Chelsea and Hampton court so we can focus on BexSimon Collections Ltd, the new retail side of the business.  We are going for a more mature style, using more of the Art Nouveau influences than the look of nature.

This new business direction of producing cast metal products is very exciting for me, it is something I have wanted to do for a very long time.  I love casting!  Again I love the fact that it is a very old technique that has been around for centuries, and also I can use it to produce my new ‘BexSimon’ style.  Also within BexSimon Collections, we are working on some interior pieces and a garden range.

On the blacksmithing side of the business we are still getting some really exciting commissions.  One really interesting project involves a fighter plane ejection seat for which we are building a stand – the design is very H.R. Giger – as if the chair is coming to life with an alien style tail and spine that morphs out of the seat.
