Come down to RHS Hampton Court Flower Show and meet Bex in the flesh!!

We’re exhibiting there until Sunday evening (11th July). We have bespoke hand made gates, railings, furniture, and garden accessories.

…and the pestle and mortars of course.

I am ssoooo pleased to say we are exhibiting at RHS Hampton Court Flower Show!  So come and see what great new pieces we will be exhibiting at the show!  We will be in our same place by the rose entrance!

We are very sorry to say that we have had to pull out of Hampton Court Flower Show this year.  This show is our favourite of the year so the decision wasn’t easy.

I can say that we have chosen to do this for very positive reasons and that the business is doing better than ever and we will be back next year – even bigger and better than before!

Also I would like to welcome to the business, as of next Monday, husband Dave, who will be a full time BexSimon partner!!!!!

This is just so exciting, he will be doing all the things I find really tough which will free me up to… take over the world!!!!! Only joking  … achieve all the things I have wanted to do for the last 7 years.

Hi everyone!

Wow what a week!  Be sure to watch High Street Dreams on Monday BBC1 at 9.00pm.  Things will defiantly become clear!  We are now exhibiting at Pulse in Earls Court on the 6th, 7th and 8th June!  Its a big retail show and we will be there with our beautiful Pestle and Mortars!  Its the first one and we are excited and nervous!!  Fingers crossed everyone will love our product as much as we do!!

We had a great SHOW at The Royal Windsor Horse Show.  Beautiful grounds in the back drop of the castle, lovely people who shared a great interest in my artist blacksmith work – the hand made bespoke Dragonfly Gate went down a storm!!!

We watched the Tatoo on the Thursday night and felt extremely proud to be British and even prouder of our troops.  That said the Norwegian Army marching thing was also fantastic!

As usual, the heavens opened just as we were breaking down the stand and the boys (Dad and Dave) got completely soaked whilst me and mum waited in the hut!

A fantastic show – we’ll definately be back next year.

Artist Blacksmith, BexSimon, is working with a local school to where she grew up, to design and build a gate for a Prayer Garden.  The gate is being built in memory of April, a former pupil at the Cardinal Newman School, who tragically died from cystic fibrosis in 2007.

In this case Bex worked closely with the pupils to draw inspiration.  The pupils were all asked to produce their own gate designs and ideas, and from this Bex was able to produce a number of designs for the school and pupils to choose from.

“The kids were amazing – they have such fantastic imaginations. Because of the kids ideas it was one of the easier designs I’ve done.  The hard part was choosing which ideas to include in the final product.”

A final design has now been agreed with the school and Bex is now in the workshop making the design in to a reality.  Naturally, the work has generated local interest and the story has been covered by the local press, the Surrey Herald, which is now featured on the Press Page.

Poppy nervously finds her way through the fiery forge to find tiny Bex twisting and hammering metal into new and exciting organic forms.  Poppy finds out  how Bex once wanted to be a ballerina, but somehow ended up a blacksmith and learns of some of Bex’s struggles that have forged into the person she is today.  A leading female Artist Blacksmith designing and forging hand made, wrought iron gates.

If you have an interest in the equestrian world you may have seen the article from the Equestrian Lifestyle Magazine both in the shops and on their website.

This is a new market I’m targeting at the moment.  I will be exhibiting at the Royal Windsor Horse Show, and getting as much coverage in the ‘horse and hound’ field as I can.  In addition I’m hoping to win a commission from a prestigious race course to build two large sculptures – more to follow on that!

Welcome to our new web site and our new feature, THE BLOG PAGE!!

From this page we will be able to keep everybody updated with news and events and general ‘goings on’ with the world of BexSimon.

It has been a tough few years with the recession biting but we have managed to keep going thanks to all of our fantastic clients!

We had a wonderful RHS Hampton Court Flower Show 2009, and that really boosted my spirits. I loved the stand we put together and we received a great response to it.

This year we will be exhibiting at The Royal Windsor Horse Show (http://www.royal-windsor-horse-show.co.uk/Shopping.html) and again at The RHS Hampton Court Flower Show (http://www.rhs.org.uk/Shows-Events) in the same spot as ever by the Rose Entrance. So please come and see us.

Now for some very exciting news:

I now have a Business Partner, my husband David Harris.

He is a great writer and will be posting things on the blog from time to time and, most importantly, controlling the purse strings!

We are also currently working on a very exciting new development which is going to take BexSimon to the next level!!! However, we can not say any more than this at this stage, other than… it will be showing in your living rooms very soon and it will be available to buy from retail outlets by this Christmas… so WATCH THIS SPACE!!

Finally, as you can see, we have had a company make over. This marks a new beginning for BexSimon, with new branding, and fabulous new products… a step up for 2010!
