Our Story

Although I love making the bespoke metal work sculptures and ornamental gates, I have always wanted to design and produce a product for retail that would be accessible to more people, but deciding what to produce and figuring out how to put it into large scale manufacture is another story!

A fantastic opportunity arose when an email came through inviting me to apply to participate in a prime time TV show which was to be broadcast on one of the two main terrestrial channels.   With Dave’s encouragement I jumped at the chance.

The idea of the show was for fragrance guru Jo Malone to take small time entrepreneurs from the kitchen table to the high street dreams of retail.  Our product was the BexSimon Pestle and Mortar and the whole design process and rebranding of the business was filmed over two months.

Now that BexSimon Artist Blacksmith has expanded and is gaining more momentum there is simply far too much for me to do alone, so Dave, my fantastic husband has become the financial director and is now working at BexSimon Artist Blacksmith full time.

This is fantastic news for the business as I have the vision and drive, and design knowhow, whereas Dave has contractual and technical knowledge and experience from working as a building surveyor and a financial background from running his own business in the South of France.  But, most importantly, we both share the same passion and excitement for BexSimon products, so together BexSimon Artist Blacksmith will soon become a household name and a well known British Brand.
